Single.....?

i am single and my best friend is married and it's so hard to do things together. most of my friends are married..so what do i do??!! i am so lonely and alone and hate it. and people i work with all have kids and/or have bf/gf and can't stand going out with them. they left me with a beer tab one night of $55.00 and i don't need that. help??!!!

Get hobbies. There must be 100 things that you could do, clubs to join, lessons to take, sports to learn, events to volunteer for. Start doing fun, interesting things where you'll meet lots of new people.





(I personally took up ballroom dancing, and have met 50-60 new people, plus there are dances all the time. I still have 3-4 other hobbies I'm going to pursue next year, too.)

Reply:well only two things to choose from 1.) find your soul mate or 2.)find some single friends to hang out with but that still doesn't mean you wont get stuck paying a beer tab again ..........

Reply:As for the beer tab, you should've contacted them the next day and let them know what they owed you. You can't be taken advantage of unless you allow it.





As for lack of single friends...make some. My best friend is in a serious, live-in relationship but we still see each other several times a week and spend chunks of weekends together. A friendship needn't suffer because a person is involved or married, uness they are willing to let their friends to so they can spend time with their s.o./spouse...





To get to know other people and socialize take up a hobby, join a gym, join a club, volunteer, take a class...these are all ways you can meet others and form friendships....





Alone and lonely aren't the same thing...many people are fine being alone (I perfer it sometimes) and you can be lonely in a room full of people...





So get out and change those issues...no one can do it but you!

Reply:Community service projects are a great way to meet new people weather you are looking for friendship only or a more involved relationship. i understand where your coming from, it's not much fun to feel like the 3rd wheel, especially when you get stuck with the entire bill-you didn't drink those beer all by yourself. Try asking your friends if they have any other single friends? Maybe one of them would be willing to throw a singles party.?.
Reply:Don't worry about going out with other people. Go out by yourself and see if you can cause a little bit of trouble!
