Single moms?

i had a question early and i thought of this one!! how many single moms out there have applied for help and got shot down? isnt it hard on yall as single parents? me im married and have children but i give all the single moms props cause i know its not easy to raise a baby or babies on your own!

Yep. It sucks. Been there, done that. And, I hate being looked down upon when I apply for help in the first place. It's almost like the workers ENJOY turning you down. Don't get me wrong. I work 60 hours a week, I purchase medical/dental/vision/life insurance from work, I pay my own rent. I just needed some help, so I went in for food stamps. I make less than $2000/month gross, and have five kids, am pregnant with twins, and they told me I make TOO MUCH!! I about died. It was humiliating enough to have to go in in the first place. NO one WANTS to admit that they can't do it for their kids. That was a really sucky day for me.
Reply:i'm a single mother of 2 girls. a 5 yr old and 7 month old. i've applied for ABC voucher for them to help me and i got shot down. he told me i made too much. i bring home 247.00 a week how is that 2 much with 2 girls?i have bills 2 you know. he basicly told me that in order to get the daycare help i would need to be unemployed. its a shame for the ones who are trying to do something with their lives can get any help but the ones who sit at home doing nothing get all the help they want.
Reply:I am a single mom and I love my little girl her dad has never seen her before yes I have a hard time but we get throw it I would do anything for my little girl I have a full time job and I pay 85 a week for her to go to daycare because she is only 9 months old I love her very much and I would do anything and everything for her.....

When my daughter was 1st borm I received WIC-I wasn't proud but I needed it. She is now 12..I work full time, get great benefits. For the first couple of years-one paycheck was paying for child care.


It's hard for alot of single moms-I happen to have a great family and a ton of support.


I do think that there a ton of dead beat dads out there and the govt really doesn't help

Reply:I actually loved being a single mom with my first born. I t is ten times harder then when your married, but it also has 10 X the benefits!! (Note: Ilovemyhusband- guess your baby's lucky you got married, Geez)
Reply:I kind of feel sorry for single moms. I would've never had our baby if I wasn't married..So Im glad I have a husband and I could never do it nor would I want to do it alone....
Reply:yes it is hard on all us single mothers but we got to keep are heads above water and hope we do the best for our children.
