Single eye lids-- what's wrong with them?

I'm a Korean girl who is secure in her looks. But ever since I've come to college, I've been told that I should have the double eye lid surgery to become prettier and that my eyes are chinky even though I'm cute/pretty. Out of all of my features, I like my eyes the most because they are big and almond shaped but are single eye lid with a slight crease/line thingy. I feel that if I had surgery, I would look like an anime character with huge, alien eyes. I'm not considering getting surgery, but I've been scoffed at when I try to defend single eye lids: "psh, chinky eyes are what make asians ugly." I don't really understand the craze of getting the surgery done. I believe that there are all kinds of beauty aesthetics, not just one and that this is one of the traits unique to asians in general that should be appreciated. Just like how I think my Jamaican friend's hair is beautiful with it's tight, soft curls, but others only compliment her when she straightens it. So, what's your opinion?

wear brighter eye shadow or or some mascarra

learn to love who you are changing your eyes i beleive is totally unnecessary just use makeup to bring the best out in you. i hope i helped.
Reply:hi. i'm a chinese girl. hmm, there's nothing wrong with single eyelids. no, i don't have single eyelids because i have natural double eyelids on big, almond-shaped eyes but i have seen lots of chinese girls here at my country with single eyelids and they still make the most of them wih sultry eye make up. why don't you just accept your own beauty and learn to play your eyes up? the world has not really yet embraced the concept of oriental beauty. hope that helps.
